Digital ecosystems provide seamless experience in healthcare

Advanced technologies and analytics such as telemedicine are transforming healthcare with improved efficiency and patient experiences.

The Asia-Pacific healthcare analytics market is projected to grow at an annual growth rate of 19.23 percent from 2024 to 2029 with the help of the digital ecosystem utilised in healthcare, according to a study by market intelligence firm Mordor Intelligence.

Naser Shaha, Lead Analyst at Mordor Intelligence, said that digital ecosystems such as telemedicine and informed care options, are crucial in providing a seamless, convenient, and personalised healthcare experience.

"Modern technologies and analytics are being employed in various ways to enhance healthcare in the Asia Pacific," Shaha said, adding that modern medical technology plays a vital role in improving the quality, accessibility, and affordability of healthcare, especially for underserved populations.

She mentioned that data AI and predictive analytics are instrumental in improving clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction. These tools also support decision-making and innovation within the healthcare sector.

"The integration of these technologies is transforming the healthcare landscape, making services more effective and patient-centric," Shaha added.

When asked about the impact of government healthcare policies on market growth, Shaha said, "Clear and consistent regulation for data collection, sharing, and protection, as well as digital health services and products, are key.”

She said that investment in health information systems, infrastructure, and human resources capability building are crucial for enabling data-driven decision-making, underscoring the importance of public-private partnerships and collaborations among stakeholders, including healthcare service providers, payers, researchers, and consumers, to leverage data analytics for improved health outcomes.

Shaha cited the example of OPTiM's introduction of Specialty Fusion in March 2022, a specialty drug management solution that minimises pharmaceutical expenditure while providing real-time insights into the most effective specialty treatments at the lowest cost to patients.

Another notable development is Microsoft’s launch of the Azure Health Data Services platform, designed to support protected health information globally. "These innovations are indicative of the dynamic nature of the healthcare analytics market in the region," Shaha said.
