The new service is being constructed adjacent to the existing 80-year-old facility.
The $20.1m (A$30m) Wentworth Health Service Redevelopment in Australia is underway, with its building structure now complete.
The new Wentworth Health Service is being constructed adjacent to the existing 80-year-old facility and will feature 19 inpatient unit beds, an urgent care centre, and community health services.
The facility will also include a palliative care suite, a dedicated space for families that opens to a central courtyard, and a gym.
Health services will continue to operate during the construction phase, with the new hospital scheduled for completion in mid-2025. Meanwhile, the old facility will be demolished, and a new ambulance bay will be constructed.
