HKUST and Beijing Tiantan Hospital to launch training programme for physicians

The selected participants will undergo training focused on research and clinical practice.

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Beijing Tiantan Hospital signed a strategic cooperation agreement to launch a talent training programme focused on research and clinical practice.

Selected physicians for the programme will undergo research training at the university where they will participate in frontier research projects whilst learning new research approaches and technologies.

Collaboration on research projects will cover various areas such as neuroscience, artificial intelligence (AI), and biomedical engineering.

“We aim to establish exchanges and collaborations with Mainland institutions to develop talent and advance medical and clinical research in Hong Kong and the Mainland.” HKUST President, Nancy Ip, said. 

“Building a critical mass of expertise will also foster healthcare innovation and strengthen the biomedical and healthcare industries in both regions," Ip added.

The partners’ training programme is set to launch this year.
