What lies ahead for the $730m Frankston Hospital redevelopment?
A new pediatric zone is set to provide patients with specialist care.
The Australian government has announced that the $730m (A$1.1b) Frankston Hospital redevelopment has reached structural completion.
Slated for a 2026 opening, the redevelopment is set to feature 12 levels of clinical services, an additional 130 beds, an expanded emergency department, a rooftop helipad, and 15 new operating theatres.
In addition, the completed facility will deliver a pediatric zone with expanded women's and children's services.
This includes new maternity, obstetrics and paediatric wards, a women's clinic, and a special care nursery.
With main construction works on track for completion by late 2025, the project’s current developments will focus on the installation of the hospital’s facade and internal fit-out.
