What healthcare services do GBA travellers seek from HK?

GBA travellers go to HK due to treatments not being available in Mainland China.

Apart from shopping and touring, travellers from the Greater Bay Area also visit Hong Kong to seek medical services, a survey from McKinsey & Company revealed.

According to the survey, 78% do so due to treatments not being available in Mainland China.

The top two healthcare services GBA travellers plan to purchase on their next visit to Hong Kong are body checks (52%) and vaccination (31%).

Consumers also go to Hong Kong for specialised medical services, such as dental (19%), OBGYN (18%), and ophthalmology (14%).

Women (23%), in particular, plan to purchase medical aesthetic services in Hong Kong. Most of them (79%) intend to get non-plastic surgery injections in  Hong Kong (79%).
