Hong Kong-based Swire Pacific has made an associate investment in new premium private hospital Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital for an undisclosed amount, according to a press release.

Located in Futian district, and adjacent to the Shawei metro station, the new hospital will be the largest hospital in United Family Healthcare’s (UFH) network, with a total gross floor area of about 64,000 sqm with 350 inpatient beds.

As a multi-specialty hospital, its key focuses will include obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, oncology and orthopedics. It is expected to be operational in the second half of 2021.

New Frontier Health owns and operates UFH, a private healthcare provider with a network of hospitals and clinics in the Chinese mainland including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Qingdao and Bo’ao.

Swire Pacific has expressed plans to continue looking for similar investment opportunities in major city clusters in China where Swire might have a property asset.
