SingHealth implements AI system for streamlined clinical documentation

It supports languages such as English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil.

SingHealth has launched Note Buddy, an AI-powered system designed to transcribe and summarise clinical notes in real time during physician-patient conversations.

The system supports four languages, namely English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. It uses customised prompts to guide the summarisation of clinical notes for accurate documentation of patient concerns and inquiries.

Before consultations, clinicians can tailor Note Buddy’s prompts to align with their specific specialities, whilst during the session, it extracts and summarises relevant information shared in the conversation.

Developed by SingHealth’s Division of Digital Strategy, the system operates on the Synapxe Tandem, a generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) platform that integrates Microsoft’s Azure Open AI service.
