Rentschler strengthens Japanese ties with Summit Pharmaceuticals

The East Asian country is the world’s third largest pharmaceuticals market.

German pharmaceutical CDMO Rentschler will acquire new contracts in Japan through the enhancement of its partnership with Sumitomo subsidiary Summit Pharmaceuticals, according to a press release.

Japan is the world’s third largest pharmaceuticals market with a growth forecast of US$89 to $93b by 2023, the press release stated. An increase in biopharmaceutical startups has contributed to the growth in the industry.

Through this venture, Rentschler will give a presentation at BioJapan 2019, a biotechnology summit, on October 9-11 in Yokohama.
