Ping An Good Doctor's revenue rose 35.5% to $1.06b in 2020

The company’s average daily consultations jumped 23.9% to 903,000.

China-based internet healthcare services platform Ping An Good Doctor saw its revenue rise 35.5% to $1.06b (RMB 6.87b) in 2020. Contributions from its online medical services surged 82.4% to $242.16m (RMB1.57b) over the same period.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has opened up a great opportunity for rapid development of Internet healthcare in China, and the Internet healthcare industry is in an accelerated phase of development,” the company said.

Meanwhile, by excluding the impact of a financial commitment to the strategic upgrade, the company's net loss on the traditional businesses contracted substantially by 65.6%.

As of 31 December 2020, the number of registered users of the company grew 18.3% to 373 million, whilst average daily consultations in 2020 jumped 23.9% to 903,000. In December 2020, monthly active users and the monthly paying users reached 72.62 million and 3.98 million, respectively, representing a growth of 8.5% and 34.1%, respectively.

Average conversion rate of paying users also reached 4.9%, up 0.9 percentage point, with paying users of medical services accounting for 35.1%.
