PH investment board incentives health information software projects
The PHP 26m project is an EMR system on its way towards commercialisation.
The Philippine Board of Investments (BoI) approved an application for incentives filed by Pivotal Peak Digital Health Solutions (PPDHSI) for its $515,285 (PHP 26m) health information software project. BOI said it approved the incentives as authorised by the Omnibus Investments Code on 20 October.
The PPDHSI is a spin-off company of the University of Philippines-Manila for making the Community Health Information Tracking System (CHITS) technology. According to the BOI, Pivotal Peak envisions building an integrated health platform that will connect patients, doctors, clinics, and hospitals. The company is currently working together with the Department of Health and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation to facilitate universal healthcare through their fortified platform.
BOI managing head Ceferino Rodolfo said electronic medical records EMRs allow healthcare facilities to provide faster and quality healthcare services. "EMR systems are useful in identifying COVID-19 trends and potential cases while aiming to limit the spread of the virus by measuring the number of beds used."
Recently, Pivotal Peak partnered with SeeYouDoc to provide digital solutions for the healthcare system. The partnership sought to establish a telemedicine system powered by electronic medical records.
