MOH names new Health Promotion Board chairman

New chairman Wong Kim Yin is the CEO of Sembcorp Industries Ltd.

The Minister for Health has selected Wong Kim Yin as the new Chairman of the Board of the Health Promotion Board (HPB) from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2027.

Wong will succeed Philip Lee, who has retired from the Board on 31 March 2024.

Wong has been a member of the HPB Board since 1 October 2023. With his appointment, he brings with him three decades of strategic leadership and management experience.

He also served as Vice Chair, Asia of the World Energy Council, contributing to the global energy transition. Apart from HPB, he served on boards for the National Research Foundation, DSO National Laboratories, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and the SkillsFuture Singapore Board as its chairman.

Wong is currently serving as the Group President and CEO of Sembcorp Industries Ltd.

Lee served in the HPB from 1 April 2016 and became Chairman in 1 April 2017.
