MOH, Australia sign MOU to boost health coordination amidst ageing population

Potential collaborations are in aged care, primary care, and health financing.

Singapore and Australia’s health ministries will work together to determine potential collaborations in health systems as both populations need to enhance their elderly care.

The MOU was signed on the sidelines of the G20 Health Ministers’ Meeting (HMM) and Joint Finance and Health Ministers’ Meeting (JFHMM) in Gandhinagar, India on 19 August 2023.

The G20 HMM and JFHMM tackle the pandemic financing, where Health Minister Ong Ye Kung said surveillance funding needs to be focused on.

“This includes acquiring abilities to rapidly characterise new pathogens and establish their deadliness, infectiousness, and modes of transmission,” read the statement.
