Medical tourism advances amidst increasing growth opportunities
An analysis revealed companies are pivoting towards international patient needs.
Medical tourism is gaining momentum amidst an increasing recognition of its potential growth opportunity, according to GlobalData.
An analysis of companies’ filing documents revealed a shift towards the needs of international patients, including access to skilled healthcare professionals, advanced treatments, and world-class facilities.
Moreover, the sector is driven by the availability of affordable and quality healthcare, improved connectivity, and ease of travel.
According to Misa Singh, business fundamentals analyst at GlobalData, companies are exploring various approaches, such as participating in international expos, expanding networks of medical referral agents, and licensing technologies to third parties abroad.
Governments are also recognising the potential of medical tourism and are amending policies to further support its growth.
“For instance, the introduction of e-Medical visas by India has been playing a crucial role in attracting medical travellers,” Singh said.
