Malaysia's UCrest seeks more partners as cloud medical system gains steam

It seeks to establish more government partnerships.

Medical technology provider UCrest is collaborating with both domestic and international partners to promote i-Medic, its flagship cloud medical system.

Speaking at the company's annual general meeting, UCrest chairman Eg Kah Yee noted that there are over 20 hospitals and medical companies in the United States, Russia, and China who are currently using i-Medic.

He added that there are currently 1,000 specialists registered with i-Medic, and they are able to conduct diagnosis and give prescription via the software system.

The company is also in talks with the Malaysian Ministry of Health to expand the use of the i-Medic platform in government hospitals.

Eg noted that the software could reduce medical costs by up to 70% by cutting out procedures that can be done elsewhere or personally at a patient's convenience.

i-Medic uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology in connecting various devices including equipment in the hospitals. It stores medical records from multiple devices and provides online consultation between registered doctors and patients.
