Insight Capital raring to splurge RMB500m on Chinese healthcare firms

It has finished fundraising for its third fund.

Beijing-based venture capital firm Insight Capital has collected US$71.89m (RMB500m) in capital commitments for its third fund, the company revealed in a statement.
The new fund will continue to target investment opportunities in the healthcare space in China. Limited partners in the new investment vehicle include government guidance funds, founders of pharmaceutical companies and domestic fund-of-funds.

Founded in 2016 and based in Beijing, Insight Capital is a venture capital firm focused on early-stage investment in China’s healthcare industry, investing across medical equipment, healthcare services, pharmaceutical research and development.

The firm has invested in over 30 companies, including Beijing-based biological material developer Aitekang Medical, Beijing-based autism recovery services platform Ingcare and online medical insurance claim portal jianbaolife.com.

With the completion of the new fund, Insight Capital has nearly RMB1 billion (US$144 million) under management.
