India’s mammography equipment market growth driven by breast cancer diagnosis

GlobalData sees 12% CAGR growth through 2023.

With timely breast cancer diagnosis and women’s health advancement, India’s mammography equipment market is seen to increase at a compound annual growth rate of around 12% between 2023 and 2033.

GlobalData, in a recent report, showed that India is the second largest market for mammography equipment in the Asia-Pacific region, accounting for around 25% of the market in 2023.

Rachna Tripathi, medical devices analyst at GlobalData, said there is growing demand for breast cancer screening in India, which will increase the installed base of mammography equipment in healthcare institutions.

However, India’s mammography should be wary of concerns such as radiation safety, image quality, the need for improved mobility, cost efficiency, and accessibility, said Tripathi.
