India’s hospital accreditation board launches standards for HIS/EMR systems

The NABH welcomes the public’s feedback to enhance its current guidelines.

India’s National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) has introduced preliminary standards for hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

These standards mandate that products undergo National Health Authority evaluation and approval before seeking NABH certification.

Building on these guidelines, NABH is set to streamline hospitals’ procurement processes, promoting the nationwide adoption of high-quality HIS/EMR products.

Meanwhile, the organisation welcomes public review and input to support the standardisation of healthcare information systems.

This includes possible feedback from digital health companies, hospitals, and stakeholders aimed towards enhancing NABH’s current standards.
