India's critical care ventilator market to grow 4% CAGR by 2033
The country accounted for around 21% of the Asia-Pacific critical care ventilator market in 2023.
India's critical care ventilator market is set to experience a 4% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2023 to 2033 due to the rising prevalence of chronic respiratory diseases, according to a GlobalData report.
The surge of chronic respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma was exacerbated by factors such as urbanisation and industrial expansion.
Kanchan Chauhan, medical devices analyst at GlobalData, noted the heightened demand for critical care services due to the COVID-19 pandemic and an ageing population.

The introduction of advanced respiratory solutions like the Servo-c mechanical ventilator by Swedish company Getinge, is set to enhance treatment efficacy and operational efficiency in hospitals across India.
“India's healthcare sector is undergoing a remarkable evolution driven by technological progress, particularly evident in critical care ventilators. The nation's proactive response to the rising prevalence of respiratory diseases and an ageing population underscores its commitment to innovation, safety and improving public health outcomes,” said Chauhan.
