India eyes stronger healthcare mobility through digital portal development

Two portals are set to facilitate healthcare workforce mobility and medical value travel.

India has highlighted the ongoing development of its healthcare-focused digital portals during a discussion with the UK on the sidelines of the 77th World Health Assembly of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva.

Through a meeting between Union Health Secretary, Shri Apurva Chandra, and Lord Markham, Parliament under the Secretary of State, UK, India shared that one of its digital portals is set to facilitate healthcare workforce mobility to other countries.

In addition, the second platform will emphasise easing medical value travel.

Meanwhile, both countries discussed critical issues that pertain to their memorandum of understanding, specifically in the mobility of healthcare professionals to the UK.

Furthermore, the two parties exchange views on serious matters regarding the WHO’s International Health Regulations (IHR) and Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB).
