IMF, WBG, and WHO collaborate on pandemic preparedness
The partnership will operate within each institution's mandates and policies.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank Group (WBG), and World Health Organization (WHO) have reached an agreement on broad principles for collaboration to enhance pandemic preparedness.
The partnership will operate within each institution's mandates to strengthen effective policy, institutional, and public financial management reforms supported by the IMF’s Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
The WHO and WBG will lead health-related development policies and, along with other multilateral development banks and “The Pandemic Fund”, will oversee specific project investments for pandemic preparedness.
Meanwhile, the RSF will concentrate on macro-critical policy reforms, such as enhancing the readiness of finance and health systems to respond to future health emergencies.
