Hong Kong expands EHCV scheme to Zhongshan Chen Xinghai Hospital
Eligible patients may use their Elderly Health Care vouchers in 13 designated departments.
Hong Kong’s Department of Health (DH) has announced that Elderly Health Care Voucher (EHCV) service points will be extended to Zhongshan Chen Xinghai Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine (ZSCXH).
From 18 July, eligible patients can use EHCVs for outpatient healthcare services in 13 designated departments of the hospital.
In line with this, the arrangements for shared use of EHCVs between spouses and the EHCV Pilot Reward Scheme are equally applicable at the ZSCXH.
Patients who intend to use the voucher are required to undergo identity verification and in-person registration by presenting a valid identity card or certificate of exemption issued by the Immigration Department at the hospital’s Hong Kong EHCV reception.
Meanwhile, a DH spokesman noted that those eligible for the scheme at any designated medical institution in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) should be registered with eHealth.
“After joining eHealth, the elderly can make use of the mobile app to check their EHCV balance and usage record, as well as access at any time important information such as their medications, allergies, and adverse drug reactions stored in the app,” the DH said.
The department further added that those who have not registered under the platform will be registered by their respective medical institutions upon receiving their consent.
