HK health secretary discussing collab with Mainland on transplantation
They are looking into exploring academic exchanges and organ transplant.
Health Secretary Prof Lo Chung-mau is eyeing to work together with Mainland China for organ transplantation, academic exchanges, and organ transplant mutual assistance mechanism.
In a government statement, Lo said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Mainland completed an unprecedented cross-boundary organ donation with resounding success in December last year.

National Health Commission’s Department of Medical Emergency Response Director-General Guo Yanhong said the Mainland refined its organ donation and transplantation systems with notable achievements.
The Mainland has systems covering organ donation, organ acquisition and allocation, clinical transplantation services, quality control, and regulation, adding that these adhere to scientific principles of ethics and impartiality and align with China’s national conditions and culture.
