Fortis Gurugram launches MR Linac radiotherapy for cancer treatment

The tech features real-time tumour monitoring and adaptive radiotherapy.

Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, India has introduced the MR Linac Unity, a combination of MRI and radiation therapy, for cancer treatment. 

The technology integrates a 1.5T MRI with a high-energy linear accelerator to provide clear imaging of tumours during therapy.

In addition, it supports personalised treatment plans through real-time tumour monitoring and adaptive radiotherapy.

According to the hospital, the tech’s capabilities allow for precise targetting, minimal side effects, and shorter treatment duration for patients.
