Dr. So Wing-yee named hospital chief executive of North District Hospital
She brings extensive experience in healthcare management at corporate and cluster levels.
The Hospital Authority announced the appointment of Dr. So Wing-yee as the new hospital chief executive (HCE) of North District Hospital, effective 31 May.
Specialising in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, So brings extensive experience in healthcare management at corporate and cluster levels.
Currently serving as the HCE of Bradbury Hospice, Cheshire Home, Shatin, and Shatin Hospital, So also holds the position of Clinical Stream Coordinator (Medicine) of the New Territories East Cluster.
Her tenure has been marked by notable achievements, including substantial improvements in patient care within the NTEC. Additionally, So has also successfully reduced waiting times in medicine specialist outpatient clinics and introduced groundbreaking services such as the 24-hour Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell Therapy.
Moreover, So has been instrumental in promoting Advanced Care Planning amongst infirmary patients at SCH and pioneering a "Co-Care" model for geriatric patients with traumatic head injuries at SH. Her adeptness at mobilising community resources to support hospital service development has been widely recognised, along with her significant contributions to the review of the NTEC Clinical Service Plan.
