Construction begins on Australia’s Shellharbour Hospital

The facility will feature an expanded emergency department and increased surgical capacity.

Construction of the new Shellharbour Hospital in New South Wales, Australia, has begun, with completion expected by 2027.

The facility, as part of the over $538m Shellharbour Hospital and integrated services project, will feature an expanded emergency department, increased surgical capacity, and renal dialysis. The design also includes provisions for a future rooftop helipad.

Moreover, the hospital will offer rehabilitation and aged care, outpatient care, and acute medical services.

Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park, Member for Shellharbour Anna Watson, and health workers were present at the sod-turning ceremony, marking the start of construction for the main works.
