Construction for $35.7m Gunnedah Hospital redevelopment now underway

The project’s key features include a new acute services building and an expanded emergency department.

Major construction has started for the $35.7m (A$53m) Gunnedah Hospital redevelopment in New South Wales, Australia.

Slated for completion by late 2025, the project is set to include a new acute services building, an expanded emergency department, and a modern birthing, maternity, and inpatient unit, which will support contemporary models of care.

Early works, including demolition, have been completed to prepare the site for the next stage of construction.

In line with this, the hospital's main entry and reception have been refurbished to improve access for patients and visitors.

Moreover, its services will continue to operate throughout the construction period.
