Integrity and the ability to adapt in this disruptive era will be the key for private hospitals.

Healthcare Asia sat down with Dr. Nugraha as he prepared for his session at the Healthcare Asia Forum.

What were the previous experiences and positions you've held that contributed to who you are as an expert today?

When I graduated from medical school, I was thinking to get the specialist programme, but was chosen as the hospital director at a private hospital in Central Java. After 1 year, to increase my experience, I moved to Columbia Asia Hospital, where I worked as the medical service manager and as the right hand of the hospital director to manage medical programmes, doctors, medical businesses, medical innovation, hospital and healthcare law, etc. After 4.5 years, I moved to Awal Bros Hospital Group as the hospital director until now.

What are your key business philosophies?

My key business philosophy is integrity. With integrity, we can be a true professional for our client, always giving our best and all of our heart to care for every patient. When our clients believe about our integrity, they will have huge trust in us. This huge trust will give more patients and of course more business, revenue, and higher EBITDA.

Can you give us a glimpse of what you will share at the Healthcare Asia Forum?

Right now, we have already reached a transition of the industrial revolution from 4.0 to 5.0 where technology, the Internet, and AI disrupt every segment, known as disruption.

Some big companies go down and lose to new companies because they can't read and adapt to the disruptive era. Healthcare is one of the biggest industries in the world, and of course, there will be some disrupters. We should know about these disrupters and keep moving so we won't be on the wrong side of the curve.
