The Australian government has announced that progress on the $303m (A$438m) Shoalhaven Hospital redevelopment is on track, with the new seven-storey acute clinical services building expected to be completed in 2026.

The building will house a new emergency department, an intensive care unit, double the number of operating theatres and endoscopy rooms, a dedicated cardiology inpatient unit, and a new rooftop helipad.

The project will also include new and upgraded facilities to improve patient care and support healthcare professionals with modern equipment and technology.
