Australia unveils new Tweed Valley Hospital in NSW

The $477.4m (AU$723.3m) hospital features a 430-bed capacity.

Australia has announced the launch of its $477.4m (AU$723.3m)  Tweed Valley Hospital located on the North Coast of New South Wales (NSW).

The new 430-bed hospital features access to radiotherapy services, satellite medical imaging, and a clinical training and research hub through the Northern NSW Academic Health Alliance.

Meanwhile, the hospital is developing a service to provide diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures in the community.

“For the community here in Tweed, this facility means hundreds more hospital beds, more ED treatment spaces, and more single patient rooms,” Regional Health Minister, Ryan Park, said.

“New services at the hospital are estimated to benefit 5000 patients each year by giving them access to care locally, without needing to travel outside the region as was previously the case,” Park added.
