Australia unveils new menopause referral service in Western NSW

It will operate under a hybrid approach.

The Australian government has announced the establishment of the Western NSW Local Health District’s (WNSWLHD) new specialised menopause referral service for women whose symptoms have not responded to standard treatments or who have additional complications due to other medical conditions.

General practitioners, specialists, and nurse practitioners can refer patients to the service for advanced care. Care Coordinators manage triage and guide local care, working alongside a medically led, multidisciplinary team.

Moreover, it will operate using a hybrid approach, providing virtual services with in-person consultations available as needed.
