Australia invests $7.5m to expand cancer hub support services

The funding will also support a cancer navigator for First Nations people.

The Australian government has announced an investment of approximately $7.5m (A$11m) to enhance the Cancer Hub, a service for children, young people under 25, and their families affected by the disease. 

The additional funding will expand the hub’s cancer navigation services and continue providing support through Canteen Connect.

Moreover, the funding will support the introduction of a First Nations cancer navigator to provide tailored, culturally sensitive support to the Indigenous community.

According to the government, the investment is part of the Australian Nursing and Navigation Programme to improve cancer nursing and navigation services across the country.
