Australia forms new task force for Victoria’s maternity services

It will tackle areas such as workforce recruitment and retention.

The Australian government has announced the formation of a new task force focused on optimising workforce models and addressing complex challenges affecting service delivery in Victoria’s maternity care.

The task force will tackle key areas such as workforce recruitment and retention. Moreover, it will initially prioritise rural and regional services across the state.

Furthermore, it will collaborate with health services, community members, and experts to explore models of care that provide women with choices during their pregnancy and birth experiences.

The task force will include representatives from the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Vic Branch and various regional health services. A targeted expression of interest process to join the task force is already underway.
