Jupiter Lifeline Hospitals Ltd snags Hospital of the Year Award

The tertiary care hospital has been successful in catering to the increasing healthcare needs of the growing population of Thane and beyond.

Established in 2007, Jupiter Hospital has been operating as one of the finest built hospitals with a special medical tourism wing in the city of Thane in Maharashtra, India. With more than 375 operational beds and multiple centres of excellence, the tertiary care hospital has been successful in catering to the increasing healthcare needs of the growing population of Thane and beyond.

Extending its exceptional medical service to all socioeconomic sectors, Jupiter Lifeline Hospitals Ltd took home the Hospital of the Year Award in the recently concluded Health Care Asia Awards 2019.

Jupiter’s approach of ‘Patient First’ has inspired them to bring the best aspects of modern medicine along with state-of-the-art infrastructure under a single multi-functional premise, right from day one. With the belief that patient-centric care is much more than just clinical skills and technology, the hospital focuses on providing the comfort, convenience, privacy, a de-stressing and calming environment to patients as well as their families.

The facility houses South Asia’s finest cancer care clinic, cardiac care including open heart surgeries, as well as a comprehensive liver and kidney transplantation facility. Its paediatrics section is amongst the largest departments in India with nearly all the sub-specialists for children, including paediatric neurology and neurosurgery, ophthalmology, cardiology and cardio surgery, gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrinology, rheumatology, hematology, critical care as well as a paediatric liver transplantation programme. On an international level, Jupiter Hospital boasts of its neuro rehab centre as one of the finest in South Asia, with its latest robotic and assisted devices for inpatients as well as its outpatient rehab for all neurological patients. The comprehensive healthcare institute also treats over 3,500 registered patients from across India in its cerebral palsy clinic and gait laboratory. It also holds the highest number of cochlear implants done in the country, under its comprehensive audio, voice and ENT department.

Catering to the entire spectrum of the community's healthcare needs, Jupiter Hospital also runs its own funded foundation, which collaborates with other foundations to provide free or very low cost care to the underprivileged. Furthermore, the hospital also conducts its own share of community initiatives. Amongst the initiatives include the Jupiter Charitable Institute (JCI), where 50 charitable beds under the JCI wing are available for patients from $5 a day. This price includes patient and companion bed, four meals, nursing, and biomedical support. Meanwhile, all surgeries, procedures and investigations are subsidised by 35-40%, without compromising on the quality of care. Admission is also very simple and easy as it is only based on self-declaration of need. Every year JCI also conducts about 300 free surgeries for congenital deformities in children, about 750 free pediatric cardiac interventions and open heart surgeries and about 1200 free eye surgeries. Most of these surgeries are funded by Jupiter itself.

To further nurture the medical field, Jupiter Hospital is also committed to medical education. The institute has about 100 medical doctors pursuing residency in multiple fields for degrees and diplomas affiliated to state, national and international universities. The hospital also promotes seminars, conferences, publications and research activities across specialties through its doctor panel.
