APAC set to record fastest growth for fertility testing
The region is home to over 60% of the world’s youth.
Asia-Pacific is expected to have the fastest growth in fertility testing, amidst an uptick in pregnancy and ovulation testing due to growing demand for self-contained and quick tests, as well as the rising age of first pregnancy, a report from Acumen Research revealed.
Rising birth rates and a significant expansion in the youth population are also driving market growth in this region. According to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the region is home to more than 60% of the world's youth, or more than 700 million people aged 15 to 24.
Globally, the fertility test market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 7.3% from 2020 to 2027, and reach a market value of over $720.5m by 2027.
North America holds the dominating share for the market, owing to a growing awareness of pregnancy testing methods and improving fertility rates. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, in 2016, the fertility rate in the US was 1000 women aged 15 to 44 years.
Furthermore, the rising prevalence of adolescent pregnancy, as well as the presence of major market players, creates an advantageous environment for market growth in the Americas.
