Bumrungrad Hospital wins two trophies at Healthcare Asia Awards
The Bumrungrad International Hospital wins the Diagnostics Provider and CEO of the Year honours.
In Thailand’s healthcare sector, Bumrungrad International Hospital has always represented quality service with international safety standards. The hospital invests in diagnostic trend research and state-of-the-art technology to provide the best care to patients whenever they need it. Recently, the hospital has established the following innovative and unique diagnostic services including:
- Precision medicine – an approach using personalised data such as genetics data to tailored for individual health care, lifestyle, disease prevention, diagnostics, and treatment such as targeted therapy and preventive genetics.
- Pharmacogenomics – the study of how genes affect a person’s response to drugs. Person responses differently to drugs, causing allergies, toxicity, or less effectiveness.
- Nutrigenomics – the study of the relation of genes, nutrition, and health in order to plan personalised lifestyle, food, and overall health.
- Medical Robotics – designed to assist and fulfill in procedure need high accuracy, repetitive, rapid or designed to work in remote or dangerous area. Three main categories of medical robotics include pharmaceutical robots, rehabilitation robots, and robotics-assisted surgery.
- Endoscopic Ultrasound – provides a better image compared to abdominal ultrasound, very useful to detect small lesions but serious such as digestive cancer, metastatic lymph node.
Due to this achievement, Bumrungrad International Hospital has been named Diagnostics Provider of the Year at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2021.
The other major award is granted to Ms. Artirat Charukitpipat as Chief Executive Officer of the Year (Thailand). Ms. Artirat skillfully managed the COVID-19 crisis to enable the hospital to deliver fine-tuned responses even in an uncertain and pressure-filled environment. Her leadership has been honed through 25 years of experience in the healthcare sector, and she is known for being passionate about people and technology, as well as having an open-door policy in communicating with the healthcare staff.
